The Foundation provides an institutional home for independent research and evaluation. We aim to make the evidence useful to people making decisions about AI, with questions, methods and limitations that can be inspected.

Computer science, the humanities and governance bring different questions to the same systems. Language, meaning and institutional rules all shape the settings in which AI acts.
Conclusions proportionate to evidence.
We keep conclusions tied to the system and conditions studied. We distinguish observations from interpretation and make clear where further investigation is needed.
